Four arrests in helicopter hijack investigation in which pilot was forced to fly over prisons

Four people were arrested in the investigation into the hijacking of a helicopter at the airport in Deurne last Friday. This confirms the Antwerp public prosecutor’s office. The helicopter had been rented to so-called aerial images. But en route, the pilot had to fly over two Brussels prisons under gun threat, perhaps for an escape attempt. That attempt failed. The pilot then had to ground the helicopter in Hélécine, Walloon Brabant. The hijackers had since disappeared. It is unclear exactly who was arrested.
