Founding companies from the sofa, completing financing rounds, appointing managing directors and buying (or selling) real estate.

The Viennese startup notarity enables transactions requiring a notary public to be carried out quickly and easily – completely remotely.

Vienna (OTS) The legaltech startup notarity, founded in 2021, is launching Europe’s first web platform for digital notary appointments after several months of preparation. Just in time for the launch, notarity secured an investment from Big Cheese Ventures.

Austria is the European frontrunner in the digitization of the notarial industry. Since the spring of 2020, there have been legal options in Austria to process notarial services digitally. This makes it possible, for example, to set up companies, handle financing rounds, appoint managing directors, and buy and sell real estate – completely digitally. “The notary comes to you digitally in your home office, no matter where you are in the world”, sums up the Viennese notary, Dr. Christoph Lehner, the advantage of notarity together.

notarity was founded by Jakobus Schuster (CEO), Alexander Gugler (CFO), Sebastian Wodniansky (CTO) and Max Pointner (Lead Developer). The start-up addresses its offer both to companies that want to digitize their processes more and to start-up founders who want to handle their notarial transactions – for example financing rounds or capital increases – quickly and easily. Interested companies who would like to try out notarity can now register at www.notarity.com Register and take care of your notarial appointments in just a few minutes “from the sofa”.

notarity simplifies digital collaboration with notaries – so far this has been complicated and time-consuming

notarity is the first platform on the market that maps digital appointments with notaries in a user-friendly and end-to-end manner. Previous processes required the use of several platforms, which is why many notaries and customers preferred the analogue route. Since December 2021, company formations and transactions have been carried out quickly and easily on a regular basis notarity.com settled. Notarity is already met with a lot of enthusiasm. A user from the very beginning is Dr. Klaus Pateter, attorney at law firm CMS Reich-Rohrwig Hainz. He describes the first transactions as follows: “notarity significantly facilitates and accelerates the identification and digital processing of notarial services. The platform is fast and intuitive.

Pre-seed financing: Big Cheese Ventures joins notarity

Just in time for the launch of the web platform, notarity has completed a pre-seed financing round, with which the expansion of the start-up and the further development of the notarity platform should be promoted. A mid-six-figure sum was recorded. The investors are Mark Kaslatter and Ben Ruschin, co-founders of startup advisory and investment firm Big Cheese Ventures. “The notarity team immediately impressed us”, explains Kaslatter the motives for the investment. “The combination of legal, business and technical expertise shown by notarity’s founding team is really impressive‘ says Kaslatter. “With Big Cheese Ventures we want to offer the founders we work with a unique experience. This includes the fact that the founding as well as the financing rounds of our startups are handled quickly and easily“, says Rushin. Together, Kaslatter and Ruschin hold 15% of the shares in notarity GmbH – both are moving into the startup’s Advisory Board and will actively support the startup in this role.

The capital increase of notarity GmbH was of course processed via its own platform. The notarizing substitute notary, MMAg. Maria Regina Thierrichter comments on the transaction as follows: “The appointment was processed quickly, easily and without any problems via notarity.com. The participants were able to sign the notarial deed from the comfort of their own home. I’m excited.
