Founders of VR Hit Beat Saber Leave Beat Games Studio: What Does the Future Hold?

The remaining founders and creators of VR hit Beat Saber are leaving Beat Games studio. Ján Ilavský and Vladimír Hrinčár published this news shortly after each other on the Twitter social network. The third founder of the studio, musician Jaroslav Beck, left Beat Games last May. Ján Ilavský has worked as a creative director for the past six years marked for an amazing ride. “When I first prototyped Beat Saber, I thought it was going to be just another small solo project, similar to some of the games I’d made before,” he recalled, adding that it turned out quite differently. Vlado joined him, later Jaroslav and others. “It became clear that it wasn’t going to be just another little game,” he goes back in time.

In the beginning, it was not easy for him to give up control over every aspect of the game and its marketing, Ján admits, but eventually he had to and was able to rise above it. Now, after several years, he can say that he fully trusts the Beat Games team. Ján Ilavský recalls that they released several music packages and added other functions. According to him, the future looks even more interesting. “I still feel like Beat Saber is just getting started,” he believes. According to himself, he would like to return to his roots and work on new innovative games. According to him, the gaming industry is a challenging industry and he couldn’t be more grateful for all the experiences he’s gained and the amazing people he’s met.

Vladimír Hrinčár was briefer and only on Twitter stated, that he ends up at the Beat Games studio, where he previously held the position of team leader. He thanked all the colleagues for the amazing things they do for Beat Saber. He wished the game all the best.

Facebook bought Beat Games in 2019.
