The cultural sector of the department of Sucre is in mourning, at dawn today, Esteban Orozco Gutiérrez, founder and director of the Sincelejo Music Conservatory, died a victim of COVID-19.
Orozco had been admitted to a Sincelejo Clinic for several days, however despite the enormous efforts to save him, the virus won the battle.
Through the networks of the Sincelejo Music Conservatory, his wife Zoraida Gutiérrez de Orozco reported on his death and said goodbye to him with heartfelt words.
“My champion is already in heaven waiting for me when God wills. You were the best husband, father, grandfather, citizen. Your sacrifice was not in vain and your legacy will remain forever for the honor and glory of God ”, says the message of Zoraida Gutiérrez, who along with her husband for 21 years have carried out an important work of musical academic training at the Conservatory of Music from Sincelejo, as well as his 2 children.
Precisely days before being diagnosed as positive for COVID-19, Esteban Orozco, had received from the Ministry of Culture a certificate of the National Program for Culture Agreement 2021, as the Conservatory of Music was favored among the projects of the department of Sucre, as trainers of boys, girls and young people in the execution of instruments of reeds, brass, strings, voice, percussion and music pedagogy.
Representatives of the cultural sector, students, authorities and citizens in general have expressed their condolences for the departure of the cultural manager, recognized for his work and excellent qualities and personal qualities.
