According to scientists, two new planets called LP 890-9 b and LP 890-9 c are very similar to Earth. Photo: ist
Planet LP 890-9 b is 40% larger than Earth. While LP 890-9 c is 75% larger than the Earth. The two planets orbit a relatively cold red dwarf 98 light-years apart.
The temperature is very cold. This is minus 1.1 Celsius. But it is in the habitable zone of its star. So the possibility of liquid on the surface is very high. However, the atmosphere has a high greenhouse effect. Hence, the planet is similar to Venus.
According to NASA, if humans moved to this planet, it would also be difficult to adapt. Because a year only takes 2.7 days to 8 days. This is because the star in which the two planets orbit is much closer and colder than the sun.
Scientists say they will continue to carry out further research using the LP 890-9c using the James Webb Space Telescope.

In an article by astrophysicists at the University of Liege in Belgium, Laetitia Delrez, LP 890-9 b is the second most favorable habitable planet after the TRAPPIST-1 planetary system. The TRAPPIST-1 planetary system has seven Earth-sized planets 40 light years away.
