During a coronavirus pandemic, you need to constantly take vitamin D – it is he who has a direct effect on immunity. In case of its deficiency, the disease is much more difficult.
– Vitamin D deficiency was detected in 71.3% of people with coronavirus, including 36.3% of this deficiency was quite severe, – said Evgeny Shlyakhto, Director General of the V.A. Almazov National Medical Research Center of the Russian Ministry of Health, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences. – This deficit acts as an important marker of a pessimistic forecast.
Natalya Denisova, a researcher at the Federal Research Center of Nutrition and Biotechnology, nutritionist, told that vitamin D is the only one synthesized by the human body.
In most parts of the country there is a lack of sun, which is why almost 90% of citizens are deficient in vitamin D.
“You don’t need to go to the other extreme and consume vitamin D all year round,” said Natalia Denisova. – You need to take it only in the autumn-winter period – the time when there is not enough sun in Russia.
In addition to strengthening the immune system, vitamin D provokes the strengthening of bones, as it participates in the process of absorption of calcium and strengthening of bone tissue.
“Vitamin D can also be called the vitamin of joy,” the scientists said. – Autumn blues are very well treated precisely because of this technique.
You can take vitamin D in the form of tablets or drops, but the main source of it is marine fish oil.
– Slightly less of it is contained in the yolk of eggs and milk. – said Natalia Denisova. – If we eat all the necessary amount of sea fish, then we can do without any “synthetics” at all – 2-3 times a week there is a hundred-gram piece of fatty sea fish.
According to German Zverev, President of the All-Russian Association of Fisheries, vitamin D is found in sufficient quantities in commonly available canned food – in the liver of cod and pollock.
“Pollock or cod liver has been one of the most famous fish delicacies since Soviet times,” Zverev said. – 100 grams of the product contains 1000% – of the daily intake of vitamin D. The same herring contains only 300% of the daily intake of vitamin D.
