The discovery was made in connection with the arrest of two people in a drug case in Søgne in Kristiansand.
– Finds have been made of what appears to be civilian explosives. It is not a bomb, emphasizes operations manager Jarl Nilsen in the Agder police.
– We do not have the expertise to secure it in a responsible manner. That is why we are calling in a bomb squad, says operations leader Jarl Nilsen in the Agder police.
The police have cordoned off an area around a relevant dwelling. They also have a dog with them.
The bomb squad will assist with security, if there is explosives.
The discovery was made in a private home in a residential area in Søgne.
The operations manager emphasizes that there is no danger to the surroundings.
The toll group arrived in Sørlandet by police helicopter around 11 o’clock on Sunday morning. The police helicopter landed at Lunde school.
If there is talk of explosives, it will be destroyed by the bomb squad in an industrial area in the vicinity, the police say.
