The former football professional made headlines earlier this week with sad news: The 38-year-old was found dead in a hotel room in Tampa Florida. His family had previously put up a missing person report – but officials found him still healthy. Now there are new indications of the cause of death: Jackson apparently had a big drinking problem!
The responsible police authority confirmed this on Wednesday MJ Morning Show: “The autopsy report showed that he was unfortunately suffering from chronic alcoholism.” His poor health for years, which was caused by the addiction, is said to have contributed to his death with a high degree of probability.
The family is also said to believe that his brain disease is related to his death. Through his career as a professional wide receiver, he had suffered more than just one traumatic brain injury. In Jackson’s case, it is said to have developed into a chronic traumatic encephalopathy – a typical illness among football players, boxers or even ice hockey players who often get hit on the head at work. “If you suffer from it, you are no longer yourself,” said one police officer. Symptoms of CTE include extreme mood swings and impulsive behavior changes.
