Found 50 trapped pets

Several reports of concern were received by the East police district on Saturday evening, and the police therefore moved to an address in Ullensaker.

After entering a residence, police found 50 confined pets. A total of 40 cats, three dogs and seven chickens.

– The police received a report about dogs at the address that had been “howling” for two days, says Anita Tangen, acting head of the investigation section in Ullensaker sheriff’s district, to Romerikes Bladwho reported the incident first.

– The reporter was concerned that the dogs and other animals at the address had not been supervised for several days, Tangen added.

Most of the animals are said to have stayed in cages or been locked in the house without access to water. Some had visible wounds.

The sequence of events is unknown, but the animals have been taken into custody by the police for the time being, before the Norwegian Food Safety Authority takes over.

The owner has been contacted and the police are following up on the case locally.
