Brown started singing after his wife nudged him. “She whispered in my ear to sing, so I started,” he told BBC news. Brown’s spontaneous performance reliably filled the entire hall even without a microphone. When he finished singing, he sat down and started eating popcorn like it was nothing. But the applause of the spectators and players of both teams crowned the power of the moment.
Brown has explained in subsequent interviews that he comes from a musical family. But he never made a living singing, and he sang the American national anthem alone in front of an audience for the first time. The video received over 30,000 shares on Facebook alone and was seen by over one and a half million people.
