Forza Motorsport Update 6: Major Changes and Controversial Car Leveling System – March 11, 2024

Game Message March 11, 2024, 9:14 p.m

Update 6 was released today for Forza Motorsport. Although it falls short in terms of new content, it makes up for it with numerous fixes and major gameplay changes, including, above all, the controversial car “leveling” system.

March is the first month in the post-release history of Forza Motorsport in which no route was added to the game. Yes, in the one released today Update 6 not even a single truly new car was included (i.e. one that wasn’t available in the previous installment of the series). This happened because Turn 10 studio this time shifted its priorities towards improving what is already in the game.

Update 6 – list of important changes

First of all, the progression system, which aroused great controversy, was thoroughly changed, as announced. From now on, all vehicle upgrades are available from the beginning, and the points needed to equip them can be purchased for credits (or accumulated by driving and leveling up, as before). In addition, many other important fixes have been introduced – selected examples are listed below.

  • The artificial intelligence has been improved so that opponents in the middle of the pack do not cause as many collisions in the first corners of races, and the leaders do not get so far ahead. Additionally, using rewind should no longer cause opponents to behave strangely.
  • The penalty system for offenses involving side hits has been improved.
  • Various lighting options have been added to the livery editor so you can see how your car will look in different conditions.
  • Rewinding is no longer blocked at the very beginning of the race, and also at the end when an opponent crosses the finish line before us.
  • Eight new music tracks have been added to the main menu.
  • Fixed flickering graphics issues caused by global illumination and RT ambient occlusion.
  • The estimated VRAM usage for individual settings in the graphics options menu on PC has been clarified.
  • Changed the pit exit location at Daytona to match reality (and cause fewer collisions).
  • In addition, the game’s stability has been improved and dozens of minor bugs have been fixed, e.g. related to individual cars. You can find the full list of changes here here.

Cars in Update 6; Update 7

Update 6 only adds four “recycled” cars – as I mentioned, we’ve seen all of them before in FM7, and Forza Horizon 5 also includes them.

  • 2014 Alfa Romeo 4C – available from March 14
  • 2010 Ferrari 599XX – from 14/03 to 11/04 (reward in new competitions in career mode)
  • 2014 Lamborghini Hurricane LP 610-4 – od 4.04
  • 2009 Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster – 4/04 to 25/04 (Career Mode Reward)
  • As usual, Car Pass buyers are in a better position, as they will receive four fresh vehicles (although there are only a few vehicles left until the offer lasts):

  • 1983 Nissan #23 Nissan Motorsports Silvia Super Silhouette – od 14.03
  • 2019 Toyota 86 TRD SE – from 21.03
  • 2020 Lexus #14 Vasser Sullivan RC F GT3 – od 28.03
  • 1986 Lotus #12 Team Lotus 98T – od 4.04
  • Finally, Turn 10 studio left us with the promise that April’s Update 7 will introduce another new route. It did not reveal which one – we will probably find out in the first days of next month.
