Forza Motorsport Trailer Shows Car Damage And Rendering Fidelity – Gaming – News

During the Xbox Developer_Direct presentation, developer Turn 10 Studios gave a closer look at the role of the physicsmodel in the game and how it affects the damage shown on the cars and the fidelity, among other things.

Volgens Turn 10 Studios this eighth title in the Forza Motorsport series will become ‘the most technically advanced racing game ever made’. The developer says the racing game was built from the ground up to take advantage of the computing power of the Xbox Series consoles as much as possible. Forza Motorsport will only be released for PC and the Xbox Series X and S.

At the time of the game’s release, Forza Motorsport features over 500 collectible cars and over 800 different, unique upgrades. There are over a hundred all-new cars that have not previously featured in a Forzo Motorsport title. According to the developer, there are more cars to collect and race in total than in any previous title in the series.

The game features twenty environments, including familiar circuits and five new ones, such as the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit in South Africa. Each circuit should have much more detail than in previous games. For this purpose, about 3TB of data has been collected in the form of photogrammetry per circuit. According to the developer, Forza Motorsport has a fully dynamic weather system for the first time, including varying temperatures that also influence behavior on the asphalt. So every race should feel different.

Turn 10 Studios says a lot of effort has gone into the game’s physics model, which it says has more progress than Forza Motorport 5, 6, and 7 combined. That should make the driving experience more realistic and more fun and the reproduction fidelity should also be a lot better, partly because the shaders and materials are rebuilt. The paint and thus the colors of the cars should respond more realistically to light. Furthermore, ray traced global illumination present in the game and the world is rendered in 4k resolution at 60 frames per second.

The developer further emphasizes that damage and the appearance of dirt on the cars will be completely unique per car. More account is taken of the influence of the immediate racing environment, simulating paint thickness and damage, among other things. Dirt will mainly end up in places of the cars where it makes the most sense.

Turn 10 Studios has not yet released a release date for Forza Motorsport. In any case, the game will be released sometime later this year. In June last year spoken about a spring 2023 release. The last title in the series, Forza Motorsport 7, dates back to October 2017.
