Forza Italia replies to Lega and FdI: here is the Ius scholae in the center-right program

“Promote the social and work inclusion of regular immigrants. Guarantee flexibility in leaving the world of work and access to pensions, promoting generational turnover. Both are points present in the program of the center-right government. The The right school represents the instrument to keep these promises to the voters”.

Tajani: “Let’s wake up, the world has changed. The country is ready for Ius scholae”

by Tommaso Ciriaco

This is what we read on the social profiles of Forza Italia which thus returns to the question of The right schoolagainst the objections often received that the issue is not in the program proposed by the center-right coalition for the 2022 general elections.

In the post, an image of the two points of the program mentioned is added. They are found in chapters 6 and 9 of the document, respectively under the title ‘Security and fight against illegal immigration’ and ‘Welfare state and support for the needy’.

Later on, on Forza Italia’s X profile, a video is published of Silvio Berlusconi which expressed itself on the The right school stating: “We believe that granting citizenship to the children of foreigners living in Italy is a duty when this person has attended a school cycle that allows him to speak our language, know our history and appreciate the cornerstones of our civilization.” The post emphasizes: “Listen to the words of President Silvio Berlusconi on The right school. He was in favor of granting citizenship to children of foreigners born in Italy who had completed compulsory education, Forza Italia continues to be consistent with this.”

Among the first to reject Forza Italia’s proposal was the deputy prime minister and leader of the League, Matthew Salvini: “It is not a priority – he stated at the Rimini Meeting -, it is not on the government agenda. A law that works should not be changed”.

The leader of the Northern League group in the Senate also responded to Tajani yesterday, Thursday 22 August, Maximilian Romeo: “Tajani’s insistence doesn’t really bother the League that much – he explained – which has a clear position and reiterates its no, but since it offers a platform to the opposition it risks seriously undermining the stability of the government”.

A no also came from the group leader in the Chamber of Brothers of Italy, Thomas Foti: “It is legitimate for a party to underline a proposal that is not in the electoral program of the majority, nor of FdI, nor of the League, nor even of FI – he explained -. It is legitimate for Tajani to consider it a topic of discussion, but it is also legitimate to identify priorities, which certainly would not be up to the opposition to decide”.
