Forward Mattias Janmark agrees to one season with the Oilers

EDMONTON — The Edmonton Oilers have signed forward Mattias Janmark to a one-year, $1.25 million contract.

Janmark played 67 games with the Vegas Golden Knights last season and had nine goals and 25 points. The Swede also posted a plus-3 differential.

Selected 79th overall by the Detroit Red Wings in the 2013 draft, Janmark was traded to the Dallas Stars in 2015.

In four seasons with the Stars, Janmark has amassed 46 goals and 109 points in 297 games. He signed a contract as a free agent with the Chicago Blackhawks in October 2020. He had 19 points in 41 games before being traded to the Golden Knights in April 2021.

In six years in the NHL, Janmark had 66 goals and 158 points in 420 games. The 29-year-old veteran added 24 points in 61 playoff games, including a hat trick in Game 7 of the first round of the playoffs against the Minnesota Wild in May 2021.
