Lyon drew with their hosts Nice 1-1 on Friday in the fifteenth stage of the French Football League competition, taking Lyon to 21 points in eighth and Nice to 20 points in ninth. Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema attended the match among Lyon fans, the joy of him at being crowned with the Ballon d’Or, and appeared while taking him to the “Groupama” stadium.

Nice were on course to continue their resurgence and secure their third and sixth consecutive wins this season when they scored a goal past their Ivory Coast international striker Nicolas Pepe in the 38th minute from a penalty kick, but Lyon also got a penalty which Lacazette presided over successfully.

The stage will continue on Saturday with my first meeting of Lens against Clermont-Ferrand, and the second of Rennes against Toulouse, to conclude on Sunday with the matches of Paris Saint-Germain against Auxerre, Brest against Troyes, Lille with Angers, Montpellier with Reims, Nantes with Ajaccio, Strasbourg with Lorient and Monaco with Marseille.
