Forward John Dahlström to Djurgården
Published: 2024-01-25Djurgården is very happy to welcome John Dahlström to the association. The 27-year-old forward makes the transfer from Oskarshamn on a contract that extends over the remainder of the season.
– It feels good to be able to upgrade the squad with John. He is a versatile forward, who has been productive at SHL level for periods. In addition, he is a hard-working and competitive player who likes to get in on goal, comments Djurgården’s sporting director KG Stoppel.
John Dahlström, 27 years old, is ready to play in Djurgården IF. The closest the forward comes from a longer stay in Oskarshamn, which he has represented since 2018. Originally, the Kungsbacka-born player was brought up in Hanhals IF and his career has included games in Frölunda and Almtuna.
Dahlström spent the 2016/2017 season in North America and the WHL, where he scored 59 points in 63 games. After that, he has had time to gather broad experience in SHL games and the 27-year-old is listed for 229 games in the top league. Now John Dahlström is welcomed to the Hovet for games in the Djurgårdsträyan.
– John as a person is a very good guy and he is at exactly the right age. It feels positive to get him into our team building, adds Stoppel.
The agreement is signed until the end of the season and the new acquisition immediately joins the men’s team.
