YOGYAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The candidate pair (bapaslon) Sunaryanta-Heri Susanto will register at the KPU Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta, on Sunday (6/9/2020).

Sunaryanta ran from his house in Kwarasan Wetan, Kedung Keris Urban Village, Nglipar, to the KPU Gunungkidul office. The distance covered is about seven kilometers.

Initially, Sunaryanta ran from his house. Meanwhile, Heri, who is a candidate for deputy regent, was waiting for him on the road to the KPU office.

They wear t-shirts and sweatpants. After changing the t-shirt and pants, the pair, who were promoted by the Golkar Party and PKB, immediately registered with the KPU.

Sunaryanta is a member of the TNI who serves at the Ministry of Defense. Meanwhile, Heri Susanto is the state civil servant (ASN) at the Ministry of Defense.

Sunaryanta chose to run to the KPU as an effort to campaign for the importance of exercise to maintain health during the Covid-19 pandemic.

In addition, running also has a meaning to catch up so far.

“Philosophy to catch up can not only by leisurely and saktekane (as much as possible), but must run fast to reach expectations. So it’s not the time for us to relax, but we have to run to catch up, “said Sunaryanta at KPU Gunungkidul, Sunday (6/9/2020).

When asked about his status as a member of the TNI, Sunaryanta admitted that he had submitted his resignation.

“I am the TNI and of course I will follow the applicable regulations. At this time I am in the process of resigning. Currently it is in the process,” said Sunaryanta.

The same thing was also conveyed by Heri Susanto, who is an ASN at the Ministry of Agriculture. Heri had already applied for early retirement in March 2020.

“Because we have committed when we run, there must be risks,” he said.

Head of KPU Gunungkidul Ahmadi Ruslan Hani said the registration documents for the chameleon were complete. KPU officers will verify the document.

“Next, we will verify it after we receive the registration documents,” said Hani.

So far, there are four pairs of candidates who have registered with the Gunungkidul KPU. A total of three pairs of candidates had already registered with the KPU.

They are Bambang Wisnu Handoyo-Benyamin Sudarmadi, Sutrisna Wibawa-Mahmud Ardi Widanto, and Immawan Wahyudi-Martanty Soenar Dewi.
