Estonian Young Farmers and the Estonian Rural Innovation Association invite you to a rural economy forum.
What do the representatives of the political parties running for the European Parliament think about the present and the future regarding agriculture and forestry? Does the future of rural areas matter and to whom? Will the subjects you care about reach Europe?
The party’s general secretary and a candidate for the European Parliament from the Center Party will come to discuss the important issues of the countryside Anneli Ott.
Annelie Ott: “Estonia’s voice must be strengthened in the European Parliament, the role of the common market for creating equal opportunities must be highly praised, be more effective for us. The differences between subsidies in the Member States must correspond to the conditions on the ground. The sustainability of our rural life and small producers is one of the main bases for ensuring food security, the loss of continuity here is a great weakness in emergency situations that we cannot afford. The conditions for using European Union subsidies must be based on the opportunities that entrepreneurs and civil society have to use them, not political and increasingly bureaucratic ones.”
On the forum we will find answers to these questions as well as discuss the following topics:
Sustainable agriculture and forestry management; climate change and the future of the sector
Role of women in the household/sector/society
Preservation of Estonian family farms and life in rural areas
Agricultural and forestry education (including early childhood education and andragogy)
