Fortuner-Innova prices dropped by almost Rp. 100 million without PPnBM

Sales Tax Relaxation on Luxury Goods (PPnBM) is being considered by the government to expand so that local production 2,500 cc cars such as Toyota fortuner and Innova and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport also have the potential to drop in price.

Currently, PPnBM relaxation is only given to cars that meet the requirements in the form of a sedan or 4×2 with a maximum engine of 1,500 cc produced by local purchase 70 percent. The government has gradually reduced PPnBM rates, namely 100 percent in March – May, 50 percent for June – August, and September – December.

If the Fortuner or Pajero Sport PPnBM rates are cut by 100 percent as is currently being done for cars with a maximum of 1,500 cc, the official price is expected to drop to nearly Rp. 100 million.

For example, Fortuner should be subject to 20 percent PPnBM for the 4×2 variant. The amount of PPnBM for this car, for example, is the Fortuner variant 2.4VRZ 4×2 AT with a Motor Vehicle Sales Value (NJKB) of IDR 419 million and a coefficient of 1.05, which is IDR 87.9 million.

Under normal conditions, Rp.87.9 million is the value that is handed over to the government and the producers then charge the consumers at the retail price. If you get 100 percent PPnBM relaxation facility, then that value is completely excluded from the retail price of the Fortuner 2.4VRZ 4×2 AT.

The retail price of the Fortuner 2.4VRZ 4×2 AT is currently Rp.560.5 million, if it is reduced by Rp.87.9 million, the price tag could drop to Rp.472 million.

Another example is the amount of PPnBM for Kijang Innova 2.4 V MT with a NJKB of IDR 319 million, a 20 percent PPnBM rate and a coefficient of 1.05, which is IDR 66.9 million. The retail price of this variant is IDR 426 million, after being trimmed the price tag of IDR 66.9 million can decrease to IDR 359 million.

Next is the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Dakar Ultimate AR 4×2 PPnBM with IDR452 million NJKB, 20 percent PPnBM rate and a coefficient of 1.05, which is IDR 94.9 million. The retail price of this variant is Rp.624.7 million, then the official price after deducting Rp.94.9 million becomes around Rp.529 million.

This method of calculating is still rough, but it can be used as an illustration of how much the price reduction for each 2,500 cc model is not subject to 100 percent PPnBM.

However, the determinant of the retail price remains in the hands of the Brand Holder Agent because there are other factors that influence it.
