The driver of the Fortuner car with the initials Y admitted to taking it Polri service plate 351-00 belonging to the middle officer (pamen) Police Headquarters. Even so, Y was not charged with theft, but instead just a ticket for traffic violations.
“To be accountable for what was done by brother Y, the Police conducted a cross-section with a violation of 268 in conjunction 68 Law on Traffic and Road Transportation Number 22 of 2009, “said East Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Erwin Kurniawan to reporters, Friday (21/5/2021).
From the perpetrator’s statement, he took it service plate 351-00 it’s from a repair shop. Erwin said the license plate was genuine and owned by a middle-ranking officer who served at the National Police Headquarters.
There is no criminal element
In addition, Erwin said his party found no criminal element of the offender’s actions.
“Regarding the criminal offense that we suspect from the investigators of the East Jakarta Metro Police, we do not use a criminal offense, because indeed the nopol is official, but the owner does not know that it is used by the person concerned on the car he is driving,” said Erwin.
During the press conference, Y was present and explained the questions Police service plate the. Before using the Polri service plate, Y admitted that he had used the TNI service plate.
