Slovan, who started without several supports, did not play well in the opening duel of the 2nd preliminary round of the Champions League. He will perform in it on Wednesday on the lawn of Ferencváros Budapest.

Statements after the match:

Roman Skuhravý, coach of Podbrezová: “We took advantage of the time in which the match was played. Now the priority for Slovan is to get as far as possible in European competitions. So it won’t hurt him and I hope it will help us. I’m happy with how we took control of the match after our goal in the first half . Paradoxically, the second goal hurt us, we were more passive, we thought up stupid things. I appreciate all the more that we were honest in the deep block. I appreciate the way we jumped in front of the goal. I believe that this win is an engine for the team and we will try to take advantage of it. But if we want to be successful in the long term, we have to improve.”

Boris Kitka, assistant coach of Slovan: “Congratulations to the home team for the victory. We started the match quite well, but the home team got caught after the goal. We didn’t use the transition phases until then, then we had poor movement up top, we couldn’t get one on one, we had bad movement. Substitutions that we did in the second half, they didn’t bring a big change. Although we had more of the game after the break, towards the end we pushed the home team after conceding a second goal. However, if we want to beat a tenacious opponent, we have to create more chances. It was difficult for us to get into them. they were disciplined, we lacked emotion.”
