It seemed that after Thursday’s win in Katowice (4: 2), Arka Gdynia would catch the wind in its sails and continue the series of victories. The occasion was perfect, because a newcomer from Częstochowa came to the seaside. Skra was the official host of this match (all because of the problems with the first league license for the stadium in Częstochowa), but it is no secret that it was Dariusz Marzec’s players who had the right to feel at home. The Yellow and Blue are one of the main favorites to be promoted, but the league table did not confirm it for various reasons, and above all because of the results. A win with Skra would allow the Gdynia players to join the top group, but the guests showed from the very beginning that they did not intend to make the Ark’s task easier.
Jacek Rokosa’s team approached Monday’s match without any complexes. First, Kacper Krzepisz with a nice head shot was defeated by Szymon Szymański, who used Marcin Stromecki’s precise cross from a corner kick. Less than a quarter of an hour before the end of the regular game time, the result was increased by Kamil Wojtyra, who finished a well-made counter. The hosts’ situation became even more complicated. In fact, it became clear that it was Skra who would win the full set of points that day. All because the Arkowcy players were once again ineffective, because there were plenty of goal opportunities as usual.
Temporary hopes were poured into the hearts of Gdynia fans by Karol Czubak’s contact goal, but that was all Arek could do that day. It is worth praising Hubert Adamczyk, who consciously gave the ball to the striker.
– I wish I could say anything. The only words that come to mind are: we’re losers. Instead of catching this point directly, we lose points at home against an opponent who is not top-tier. I do not know if everyone understood what we are playing for, because today the match did not show it. We have so many situations in every game that our heads hurt and we don’t take advantage of them. Instead, we are losing sucker goals – honestly said, clearly disappointed March.
– The team has to understand that we are not having fun here, but we are supposed to be fucking and losing points. The beautiful game has stayed and the points are running out. You have to end this beautiful game, it’s time to earn points. From the beginning of the season we have many situations that we do not take advantage of – added the Gdynia coach. The Ark has been playing checkered for several turns. Longer interweaving of wins with defeats may end badly for the keeper of the Yellow-Blue.
In the second Monday meeting, the newbies shared their points. In the 55th minute, the team from Katowice gave Michał Kołodziejski a hit, but the guests’ joy did not last too long. Three minutes later, an experienced Mateusz Piątkowski successfully used the penalty kick. Thanks to the draw, the Polkowice players kept their one-point advantage over GKS.
