Ginczek finally gets his chance

That was nothing at 0:1 in Sandhausen!

For the first time, Fortuna remained without a goal in the fourth game of the season. Although in the end there were three strikers on the pitch for Düsseldorf. One in particular will have been particularly pissed off: Daniel Ginczek (31), who previously stewed on the bench for 63 minutes …

When Fürth comes to the arena on Sunday (1.30 p.m. / Sky), there is much to suggest that Gincczek will be in the starting XI for the first time this season.

After his unnecessary red card in the 2-1 win against Darmstadt, the striker was suspended for two games after the penultimate game of the old season – and was thus falling behind his fellow strikers in the fight for regular places.

Until the game in Sandhausen, they were ahead of the game.

Now the cards are reshuffled. Dawid Kownacki (25) was also convincing in the first defeat of the season, was the best player from Düsseldorf and is seeded. Or as coach Daniel Thioune (48) puts it: “He deserves playing time.”

Rouwen Hennings (34), on the other hand, was weak at 0: 1 – the chance for Ginczek, although he did not achieve anything countable after being substituted on in Sandhausen…

Thioune, once an attacker himself: “He knows where the frame is. I see things too. There’s still enough time for me to think about it.”

But it seems certain: Ginczek finally gets his chance!
