Fortuna Düsseldorf simply cannot play top games!
Last season, Daniel Thioune’s (49) team failed to gain promotion due to their mini-results against their direct competitors – but this season in the 2nd league it is even worse. Against St. Pauli there was the fourth defeat in the fifth game against the current top 4, the point in the first leg is the only one from the top games this season.

For the second time, Fortuna is not only inviting all fans (the arena was full with 52,000 fans who didn’t have to pay for their tickets) but also their fellow competitors to step up. HSV can move ahead on Sunday against Karlsruhe to 6 points, St. Pauli (still without a defeat this season) is already 8 points away. And completely deserved it.

Incredible: Düsseldorf is 0-1 behind for the seventh time in a row (three league games, one cup game, three test games). But that wasn’t all, because Fortuna continues to distribute invitations. When the score was 0-2, Manolis Saliakas (27) was allowed to cross completely undisturbed, while Hartel was allowed to nod in even more undisturbed from seven meters (26th).
