This news makes Fortuna Düsseldorf AND Darmstadt 98 happy!
After Christoph Klarer (23) was hit on the foot on Wednesday and had to stop training a day later, the club from the 2nd Bundesliga has now given the all-clear.
BILD found out: Klarer only has a bruised foot – painful, but nothing serious at all. And so the poker for the Ösi defender can continue.

Klarer has been in agreement with Darmstadt for some time and definitely wants to switch to the newly promoted Bundesliga team immediately. The sticking point remains the transfer fee. Although Klarer only has one year left on his contract, he has increased his market value enormously in the last season. That’s why Fortuna had already agreed a few weeks ago on a transfer fee of around 2.5 million euros including bonus payments. Because Klarer has now opted for a club that is not too solvent in Darmstadt, manager Klaus Allofs (66) will probably have to cut corners.
Nevertheless, Klarer poker could still drag on.

Fortuna needs the money to be able to sign new players, but is currently not feeling any time pressure. Means: Dusseldorf will definitely not let its top defender go at an emergency price. Even if the team of Daniel Thioune (48) is really well occupied in the center of defense with Andre Hoffmann (30), Jamil Siebert (21), Jordy de Wijs (28) and Tim Oberdorf (26), even without Klarer.
That’s probably why Klarer is flying to the Fortuna training camp in Austria next week (BILD reported). Thanks to the foot all-clear, he can then continue to get fit for the Bundesliga – and the clubs can continue to gamble for the fee…
