Until November 1 Fortnitemares introduces Zero Build Horde Rush, the ability to transform into a monster, as well as new challenges and rewards.

Elsewhere, visiting the Tree of Reality or one of the map’s alteration shrines gives players the ability to perform the ritual emote and unlock the howling claws.
This in turn unlocks a host of new abilities, including vision tracking to mark nearby enemies or sense when you are being followed. This is in addition to the four Slash combo abilities, as well as the Air Slash double jump move.
To celebrate Fortnitemares, Epic Games has added a series of spooky costumes to the Item Shop, as fans have uncovered plans to launch an Evil Dead skin soon. Speaking of collaborations, a new Rick and Morty crossover is also on the way.
Outside of Fortnitemares, PC users can take advantage of the custom diagonal keyboard movement, which adds to the usual series of bug fixes and gameplay changes found further down the page.
ORIGINAL: Fortnite developer Epic Games has announced plans to release a brand new update for PS5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X / S, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch and Android. Fortnite’s 22.20 update has an October 18th release date and launch time at 9:00 BST in the UK. It goes without saying that, as a major update, the download will result in extended server downtime, which begins when matchmaking is disabled at 8:30 am.
Anyone who is already in a match can continue playing until 9:00 BST, when maintenance begins fully.
Even if it is not known exactly when the server downtime will end, expect the game to come back online at 11:00.
The news was announced by Epic Games on Twitter, along with a preview of what to expect: “Fortnitemares returns in v22.20! Downtime for this update begins at 4:00 am ET, with matchmaking disabled just before.
As the tweet confirms, the Fortnitemares Halloween event is the main feature that will be launched as part of the 22.20 update. This includes free items, bonus challenges, and various spooky map changes.
According to insiders like Hypex, the patch is likely to add the Pumpkin Shockwave Launcher as well, as well as an all-new Halloween boss and an updated player-versus-enemy-versus-player game mode. Speaking of game modes, there’s a chance Horde mode has a twist in build zero.
Elsewhere, the gauntlet will be bypassed and Epic will also perform the usual series of bug fixes and gameplay tweaks, which you can see in the 22.20 patch notes below.
