Fortnite offline for 24.30 update celebrating Star Wars
Fortnite developer Epic Games will take the game offline for the 24.30 update. This major update to the current season will add new Star Wars skins, items, and challenges to celebrate May 4th. Available on PS5, PS4, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, Android, and PC, Update 24.30 will be available for download on the morning of May 2 and will come with a server downtime of at least two hours.
When will the servers be offline?
Downtime will begin at 3 a.m. ET and matchmaking will be disabled shortly before, according to a tweet from Epic Games. For UK fans, Fortnite will be fully offline at 8am BST, while matchmaking will be disabled at 7.30am. While Epic hasn’t specified when downtime will end, maintenance usually lasts around a few hours. Fortnite should therefore be back online no later than 10:00 BST.
What’s new in the update?
Fortnite version 24.30 will celebrate Star Wars with an all-new Anakin Skywalker skin and another costume from the popular movie series available for purchase in the Item Shop. The update will also include new Force mythos, the return of lightsabers, blasters, challenges, and more. Epic Games will also take the opportunity to fix many bugs and gameplay issues.
