Fortnite: Marvel and Doctor Doom in the spotlight in the new Battle Pass

This weekend was D23, the annual Disney convention. Among all the new features unveiled and coming soon, one project caught our attention: a partnership between the big-eared firm and Fortnite.

You may hear about Disney at some point and Fortnite. It must be said that the American firm invested the colossal sum of 1.5 billion dollars in the game at the beginning of the year. Although the final result, which should be an open world in the Epic Games software, is not yet available, a foretaste of the collaboration would be emerging. Indeed, on the occasion of D23, Disney’s annual event, a new Battle Pass for Chapter 5 of Season 4 of Fortnite has been announced and it features the MCU’s newest character and will be titled “Absolute DOOM”.

What will the Absolute DOOM battle pass contain?

Skins, obviously

The announcement of Absolute DOOM was accompanied by an explosive trailer in which we can see all the available content and there will be plenty to do! As always, many skins will be unlocked. To begin with, upon purchase, you will get that of GwenPool, a very recent character (created in 2015) at the crossroads of Gwen Stacy, one of Spider-Man’s girlfriends, and Deadpool. Her particularity: being a high school student from our watch transported into that of Marvel.

Of course, other skins will be available as you progress through the Battle Pass:

  • Gwenpool – Level 1
  • War Machine – Level 15
  • Peelverine – Level 30
  • Emma Frost – Level 45
  • Captain Jonesy – Level 65
  • Mysterio – Level 80
  • School – Level 100
  • Doctor Doom – (Unlockable via new quests in September)

New weapons

Most of these skins go hand in hand with new weapons, which will be available in-game, seen in action in the trailer. To start, surely one of the most satisfying is War Machine’s armor similar to Iron Man’s with a “jet-pack” and an auto-aim shoulder turret. Since we always need them, the melee weapons of this chapter will be Wolverine’s claws, but also Shuri’s in Vibranium. Then, there will also be Captain America’s very interesting shield, we see it bounce between enemies when it is thrown. It will surely be an excellent weapon if it allows you to protect yourself and inflict damage from a distance to multiple targets. Then, Mysterio accompanied by his illusion powers available in the game, enough to deceive your enemies about your intentions. Finally and perhaps most impressive of all, Doctor DOOM’s powers will also be made available to fly, but above all to destroy all constructions and inflict enormous damage from the air.

When and where can I find the Marvel “Absolute DOOM” Battle Pass?

During D23, the appointment was set for August 16! As usual, you will be able to access the entire Battle Pass in exchange for 950 V-Bucks, the equivalent of approximately 9 euros. As a reminder, to progress in the Battle Pass, you will simply need to complete the different quests in the various game modes. New missions appear every week. You can directly access Fortnite and the Battle Pass via any device thanks to your Amazon Prime subscription. Indeed, the latter gives you access, at no additional cost, to Luna, a cloud gaming service.

More Fortnite news announced at D23

In addition to these new Marvel skins, new appearances from the Disney universe were unveiled at D23 this weekend. To start, it’s the villains who will be concerned since Cruella, Captain Hook, and Maleficent will be making their debut in the Epic Games software this fall. We can speculate that they will arrive just in time for Halloween. Then, the first collaboration in Pixar and Fornite was announced with skins from The Incredibles. In addition to these, starting today, you can find two new Star Wars skins in the store: Moff Gideon and IG-11, both from the series The Mandalorian.

As a reminder, you can play Fortnite from any computer or smartphone, even the least powerful, via Luna, the cloud gaming application included with Amazon Prime.
