It has now been several weeks since Epic Games and Apple entered the middle of a real legal case that saw as the central argument Fortnite, the famous battle-royale that has written an important part of the videogame history of recent years, ending even by conditioning the industry and many more or less recent productions. As you probably know, the dispute is related to the attempt by Epic Games to evade Apple’s internal systems which would require a portion of the earnings from each individual cosmetic item sold within the title.
The situation still seems far from being resolved, although between the two companies Epic Games seems to be what is mostly paying the price for the recent vicissitudes, and many gamers are still waiting to find out how everything will end. At present, in fact, Fortnite is no longer available for download from the App Store and Mac Store – and apparently this condition should remain so for at least a year – while all those who had installed the game on their devices before the clash between Apple and Epic Games, have long been no longer receiving updates, to the point that in the shores of Apple’s fourth season of the game has not yet started.
Because Mac & iOS are blocked for Fortnite updates, we’re beginning to grant a V-Bucks bonus for players on these platforms — to spend on any platform. The V-Bucks grant is expected to be completed by November 9th.

For now, iOS and Mac gamers can still play with other Apple users who have Fortnite installed on their devices, with the game currently stopped at the 13.40 update of Season 3, Chapter 2. Well, in order to meet all players still interested in production on Apple devices, Epic Games has decided to give them V-Buck following two distinct ways. On the one hand, iOS players will receive a number of V-Bucks equal to the amount of V-Bucks purchased through the App Store and not yet spent while, on the other hand, Mac users will get a quantity of V-Buck equal to the amount of V -Bucks purchased on the Epic Games Store and not yet spent.
As announced by the company, this massive free distribution of V-Buck began on November 6th and will end on November 9th. Given that the fate of Fortnite on Apple devices is currently still uncertain, Epic Games was keen to point out that all the V-Bucks given away will be linked to the Epic accounts used by the players, so as to allow everyone to be able to spend them on other platforms as well.
