The company Strength Flats Service Bologna communicated via their official channels the date of the recovery of the match against Avellino Basket, originally scheduled for October 27th. The race will be restarted Thursday 28 November at 8.30pm at PalaDozza.
The Fortitudo press release
“Fortitudo Pallacanestro announces that the match against Avellino (originally scheduled for October 27th) will be resumed on Thursday November 28th, with tap-off at 8.30 pm, at PalaDozza“.
The previous postponement
Due to the bad weather that affected Bologna in recent weeks, Fortitudo and Paladozza responded by postponing the match against Avellino. The match would also have been an opportunity to celebrate Ruben Douglas and retire the blue and white legend’s shirt. Regarding the emergency, Fortitudo immediately expressed its total closeness to the people affected and complete support for those who were working and still committed to resolving the emergency.
Again through its official profiles, Fortitudo announced the postponement of the challenge with the following statement.
“Fortitudo Pallacanestro announces that it has received a request – this morning – from the Municipal Administration of Bologna, which specifies that the PalaDozza is hosting the mobile columns of Civil Protection of the Campania and Veneto Regions, the national column of the Italian Red Cross and National Association of Mercy, who are working in the city to provide their support following the flood that has affected the city and the province of Bologna in recent days.
For this reason, any other type of activity already planned at PalaDozza will no longer be possible – until the emergency is over.
Consequently – in compliance with the request of the Municipal Administration of Bologna – we inform you that the match scheduled for Sunday 27 October between Fortitudo Flats Service and Avellino Basket and, consequently, the retirement ceremony of Ruben Douglas’ shirt, are postponed to date – at the moment – to be allocated.
Fortitudo Pallacanestro (in expressing once again its sincere closeness to the affected populations) heartily thanks all those who are providing their contribution to reduce (in any possible way) the damage and consequences of the recent flood“.
