América de Cali defeated Fortaleza 0-3 for matchday 12 of the 2022 Women’s League, at the Municipal Stadium of Chía. Those led by coach Andres Usme, from the first minute had total control of the match and added their ninth win so far in the tournament, maintaining the first position with 29 points.
The match began with a quick victory for América after two minutes of the game, after a cross from a free kick from the left side with Diana Ospina, who ended up scoring a great goal at the far post by goalkeeper Daniela Gamboa, leaving her without reaction.
Fortaleza could not recover from the blow and after eight minutes the Scarlets increased their advantage, after Heydi Mosquera beat Isabella Hernández on the left side, the attacker reached the final line and crossed into the heart of the area so that Ingrid Vidal only had to push her to make it 0-2 in favor of the Americans.
In the minutes that followed, the locals had a slight reaction with a better defensive order and approaches to the scarlet goal defended by Sharon Corrales, with medium distance shots or set pieces, but without generating an imminent danger, being actions that were deflected or that he controlled the goalkeeper without any problem.
At the beginning of the complementary part, América again participated in the offensive zone and at 56 minutes scored the third, after a throw-in from Leury Basanta to Heydi Mosquera, the number 7 of the visit was able to advance several meters towards the middle of the field without any mark, he outlined himself and scored a great goal for the partial 0-3.
At times Fortaleza tried to react to begin to reduce the advantage, but they lacked depth in the final part of the field and América continued to maintain a solid defense. In the following minutes the teams were refreshing their lines. Nicolle Grajales, Laura Navarro, Gabriela Ramírez and Natalia Alonso entered the local team for Claudia Vergel, Cristina Motta, Myriam Alonso and Isabella Hernández.
