Fortaleza Bus Attack: Copa do Nordeste Game Postponed Due to Violence

Botafogo-PB x Fortaleza, for the Copa do Nordeste, was postponed from the 5th to the 6th of March. The game will be held at Almeidão, at 7pm.

Six Leão do Pici athletes were hit: right-back Dudu, defenders Titi and Brítez, midfielder Lucas Sasha, left-back Gonzalo Escobar and goalkeeper João Ricardo. These last two even needed stitches.

Gonzalo Escobar, the left-back, was most affected by the fragments, suffering a traumatic brain injury (TBI). The player still has no plans to return to the pitch, as the others are being monitored by the medical department.
