Fort Worth: Vehicular carom on 35; report 6 deaths and dozens of injuries

February 11, 2021 – The prevailing winter conditions in North Texas led to a gigantic vehicular carom shortly before dawn on the I-35 freeway in Fort Worth, which left a fatal balance and dozens of injuries, authorities reported, pointing to the presence of ice and possible “speed” as main factors.

The Fort Worth Fire Department announced shortly before 2 p.m. that 36 people had been transported to hospitals and that the scene would remain active for several hours. Of these, fewer than 20 were still hospitalized as of Thursday afternoon.

Many of those served are health sector workers, according to Zavadsky. The official said they saw “a large number of people who were victims of this accident who were wearing gowns and had hospital ID’s.”
