Tarrant County has found another place to get a great BBQ: Heim Barbecue Fort Worth is opening a new location in Burleson, in a new project in the Old Town development.
A developer named BTX Old Town plans to double the size of Old Town’s core by adding 50,000 square feet of space for shops, offices and restaurants in what is called the Ellison street project.
Heim Barbecue is your first tenant, moving into a location at 135 W. Ellison St. Way for a strong start.
Burleson City Council approved a public-private partnership with BTX at its December 16 meeting.
Travis and Emma Heim started their business with a food truck in 2014, and then they opened their first store in Magnolia in Fort Worth. Since then they have opened stores in the River District in Fort Worth and in Dallas near Love Field airport.
Burleson Mayor Chris Fletcher said in a statement that they are excited about the new development, saying: “We look forward to welcoming Heim Barbecue to Old Town, as we continue our goal of bringing great places to eat, shop and work to Our city”.
Some city employees will also move into the new development, which the statement said will provide a better customer experience for utility development and billing.
Burleson city manager Bryan Langley says the city is proud to partner with the BTX Old Development Group.
This project includes new sidewalks, parking lots, lighting, and gardens.
Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2022, with completion in the first quarter of 2023. So it is still lacking.
