Leipzig (dpa) – For Emil Forsberg from RB Leipzig, the match plan in the second meeting within a few days against 1. FC Union Berlin is clear.
“Substitute Emil and win,” said the Saxons’ winning goal scorer from 2-1 in the cup semifinals with a smile and added: “We want to play quickly, get behind the chain, there are a few variants. I’m sure that we will also have a super match plan tomorrow.”
The Swedish international brought the runners-up into the cup final last Wednesday with a header in added time. The next duel against Union will follow this Saturday (3:30 p.m. / Sky) in the Red Bull Arena.
RB has been unbeaten in 15 competitive games. Although Union lost the cup semi-finals, the Irons won the last two Bundesliga duels at home against Leipzig 2-1.
Amadou Haidara is still absent from the Saxons. Lukas Klostermann, who was recently in isolation as a corona contact person, should not yet be an option for the starting eleven. This time the Red Bull Arena offers 46,110 spectator seats and is almost sold out. So far, 2,500 Union fans have purchased tickets.
