Half of the people in MV consider the corona measures to be appropriate. This is the result of a current Forsa survey on behalf of the Ostsee-Zeitung. For the representative survey 1,002 eligible voters were interviewed.
“The current measures decided by the federal and state governments are all in all appropriate”. 50 percent of the respondents from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania agree with this statement. 22 percent think the restrictions go too far and 26 percent think they don’t go far enough. There is a slight difference in the parts of the country: In Mecklenburg the acceptance of the restrictions is greater than in Western Pomerania.
In addition, according to the survey, more women than men consider the measures to be appropriate. Above all, fans of the AfD (70 percent) and the FDP (52 percent) who were interviewed believe that this goes too far. The CDU supporters, on the other hand, make up the majority of citizens (35 percent) for whom the adopted measures do not go far enough. The restrictions have the greatest acceptance among SPD sympathizers. According to the survey, it is also becoming apparent that older citizens are more likely to get used to the measures or even demand stricter restrictions than the group of 18 to 29 year olds.
Large majority adheres to corona rules
More than two thirds of the respondents stated that they adhere to all the rules that had been decided in everyday life. That is slightly less than in a nationwide survey (79 percent). It is also becoming apparent that more women than men in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania are sticking to the rules. The survey also shows that acceptance increases with age. Here, too, there are clear differences among the supporters of the respective parties: 86 percent of the SPD, CDU and Die Linke supporters surveyed stated that they followed all the rules. For supporters of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen, the figure is even higher at 92 percent. Among AfD supporters, only around half stated that they implement all the rules in everyday life.
Willingness to vaccinate in MV is slightly higher than in all of Germany
As soon as they had the opportunity, 62 percent of those surveyed in the northeast would get vaccinated against Corona as soon as possible – 5 percent more than in all of Germany. 23 percent of those surveyed in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, on the other hand, would prefer to wait and see. 13 percent do not want to be vaccinated at all. The willingness to vaccinate in women is higher than in men, and the willingness increases with age.
