Several relationships are put to the test in the TV 2 hit “Forræder”, where a bunch of celebrities will try to expose the disloyal players among the loyal ones.

In Friday’s episode, the participants point the finger at each other, and there is shock and tears when a new player has to leave Kongsvinger fortress.

– Haven’t done it before
After Victor Sotberg (31) and Aslak Maurstad (31) are chosen to fight for the dagger and thus a double vote in the council chamber, it is ultimately the latter who ends up in power.
Maurstad and fellow traitor Sotberg originally planned to vote for Tarjei Svalastog (24). The shock is therefore great when Maurstad chooses to defy the plan by choosing Robin Hofset (31), Sotberg’s best friend.
Sotberg remains in the council chamber, apparently devastated by Maurstad’s choice.

In front of Dagbladet, Hofset tells that it was hard to get out. The 31-year-old had long believed in a place in the final, and the surprise was great when Maurstad chose to use his double vote on him.

– It was a bit at the last minute that it turned around, because we had also agreed with Aslak to vote for Tarjei. So it came as a shock, says Hofset.
The biggest shock, however, was that his best friend, Victor Sotberg, was a traitor.
– I got a tidal wave of several emotions actually. I was surprised, first of all. Then I got angry inside, I felt: “Father, I was so stupid.” Then I got bored. There are a lot of emotions!
However, he praises Sotberg for his tactics.
– I’m proud of him, I have to say. It is not a negative that he was able to play the game so well. He snapped as soon as I smoked. We have only gained a stronger friendship if nothing else.

– Did you feel stabbed in the back by Sotberg?
– Yes, of course you do. When you have trusted a person so much, of course you feel stabbed in the back. But it’s a game and you know it. We are both very competitive as well, so there will be emotions!

The friend took it hard when Hofset left “Forræder”, and it is a shocked Sotberg who breaks down in tears in the episode.
– Don’t bother making me
– I dreaded that episode the most. Finally everything I’ve been carrying all season breaks. My conscience is catching up with me. I had imagined me and Rob to be in the final together. Then it burst into pieces, because I so wanted to stand there myself and tell him everything face to face. That plan went awry, Sotberg explains to Dagbladet.
Sotberg says that Hofset was clearly surprised when he learned that it was his friend who had been a traitor all along.
– That was what was so difficult, lying to him. I think “Traitor” opened my eyes a little to how strong our friendship is.
Sotberg admits that he felt let down by fellow traitor Maurstad, who chose to use his double vote on Hofset.

Explains the choice
To Dagbladet, Maurstad confirms that the two traitors originally agreed to get Svalastog out.
As is well known, he chose to break that agreement.
– We get little time to talk together privately, so it was difficult to coordinate what happened after that talk. I missed more time with Victor so we could discuss some more strategies.
– Why did you vote for Hofset?
– It is an extremely complex game, and you only see a fraction of it on TV. Although there were two equally good choices, I concluded that it would give us the best possible chance of victory.
– Was it a move to weaken Sotberg’s position?

– It was certainly not a move to weaken Victor. I felt that we were completely on a team. I can certainly understand that he felt that way then and there, because the plan was something else. It might seem like I knew how confident Rob was in Victor, but I didn’t realize it.
– Victor’s strong emotional reaction was not something I saw coming. If I knew he was going to react so strongly, I might have taken that into account more in my strategic choices.
Maurstad believes, on the contrary, that his choice went beyond Sotberg’s position in the game.
– The fact that Robin would prove to be loyal would weaken Tarjei’s theory that Robin and Victor were traitors, so I actually thought, on the contrary, that it could help strengthen Victor’s alibi.
