Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Chief Executive Formula E, Ahmad Sahroni, confirmed that the 2022 Formula E racing event in the Jakarta series was confirmed to be held in Ancol.
“This morning, the circuit approval for the implementation of Formula E in Jakarta was in Ancol,” said Sahroni.
Previously, it was confirmed that Jakarta would host one of the 2020 Formula E racing series in 2019.
But then the Covid-19 pandemic that hit the Jakarta Formula E series in 2020 was canceled.
In October 2021, Jakarta is again set to host one of the 2022 Formula E series. Jakarta will be the race series in June.
The location of the race also changed after it was originally planned to take place in the National Monument (Monas) area.
Formula E is an electric car racing event. This race has been started since the 2014/2015 season.
Last season’s Formula E race was won by Dutch driver Nyck de Vries. De Vries collected 99 points, seven points ahead of Edoardo Mortara who was in second place.
The upcoming Formula E season is scheduled to start in Saudi Arabia on January 28, 2022.
