Formula 1 team Renault will be renamed Alpine next year

The team of Renault has just announced that the French factory formation will be renamed Alpine next season. The characteristic yellow colors of recent years will disappear from the grid as a result.

Following the recent appointment of Luca de Meo as CEO of the Renault Group, the organization has reviewed its various brands including Alpine. In the meantime, it has been decided to rename Renault’s Formula 1 team into the Alpine Formula 1 Team. The racing stable will of course continue to drive with a power source of its own making. It is striking that the yellow colors will also disappear. Alpine will wrap itself in the blue, white and red of the French flag.

Alpine is a French manufacturer of racing and sports cars and is therefore not new to the world of motorsport. The brand recently took part in the FIA World Endurance Championship in the LMP2 class. However, little will change in terms of content. The line-up will continue to consist of Esteban Ocon and Fernando Alonso. The Spaniard already became world champion in 2005 and 2006 with the French factory formation and will make his return to Formula 1 next year with his former employer.
