The 41-year-old Finnish pilot is the only participant in the last Grand Prix held in Imola, which will appear on the starting grid even today. This time, however, it will not be in the monopost of the McLaren Mercedes team, with which he last appeared in Imola, or in the Ferrari, with which he said goodbye two years ago, but in the colors of the Alfa Romeo team, with which he agreed to cooperate next year. .

Whereas previously the circuit near the Italian town of Imola was called the Grand Prix of San Marino, now it is the Grand Prix of Emilia Romagna, which is the name of the region to which Imola also belongs. The Emilia Romagna Grand Prix has been reinstated due to complications associated with the coronavirus pandemic. due to which thirteen Grand Prizes were canceled.
The riders will set off on the track named after Enzo and Dino Ferrari for the thirteenth race of the season. Mercedes driver Valterri Bottas took the pole position, and teammate Lewis Hamilton will start next to him.
In Imola, Mercedes will attack the record seventh triumph in the Constructors’ Cup in a row, it is enough to get 11 points. He could thus become independent of Ferrari at the top of the history table.
