A long one Formula 1-Season is coming to an end. With three Grands Prix to go, McLaren will now have to admit to themselves: Lando Norris will no longer win the world title.
After all, in the constructors’ championship everything is currently aiming for the first title since 1998. Nevertheless, McLaren’s disappointment over missing out on the world championship drivers’ title is likely to prevail. Now the next bit of bad news has reached the Formula 1 racing team!
Formula 1: FIA rejects McLaren complaint
What had happened? McLaren had accused its World Cup rival Red Bull of making changes to the ride heights of the Red Bull cars between qualifying and the race. A process that is not legal, according to McLaren: “There is no doubt that Red Bull had a system in the car that allowed you to adjust the ride height from the interior. There is no objection to that,” said McLaren CEO Zak Brown.

The British racing team justified its complaint by saying that all other teams, including McLaren itself, did not use this technology. As “Autosport.com” now reports, the additional investigations that the FIA is said to have carried out at the Red Bull factory came to a different conclusion: “This investigation showed that no violation took place and thus confirms the position, which the FIA took during the US Grand Prix in Austin,” says “GPblog”.
Investigation completed
This is of course not good news for McLaren, after all the racing team was probably hoping for a punishment for the competition from Austria. This idea may now have been shattered, as the FIA’s investigations into this matter have now been completed.
This means that Max Verstappen can probably provide the champagne bottles. Because at the next Grand Prix in Las Vegas (November 24th) he now has a great chance of bagging his fourth world championship title early. 62 points currently separate him and his pursuer Norris.
