Drivers expect a tough race
The drivers got a first impression from the simulator. The prevailing opinion is that the track itself is fun because there are lots of fast corners. Together with the heat, this could also mean that drivers are subject to high physical demands.
“It will be a very fast track,” says Pierre Gasly. “It’s hard to compare to any other track we’ve raced so far, so it’s going to be a challenge. It’ll probably be quite physically demanding and the minimum cornering speed is pretty high.”
In the end there was a strange comparison: The route should be like Mugello – only flat.

First rounds in Qatar
The drivers are already doing their first laps on the Losail International Circuit – but still on foot. No driver has ever had Formula 1 experience on the course in Qatar. However, there are two drivers who have already raced on the course.
Sergio Perez was a guest with the GP2 Asia series, Nikita Masepin was here a few years ago with the MRF Challenge.

Does Mercedes have any new evidence?
Today the only question is whether the case will be reopened at all. For this, Mercedes must present new evidence that is “significant and relevant”. We already know that from Sebastian Vettel in Canada 2019 or the Red Bull hearing on the Silverstone crash.
Mercedes’ most important argument for this is likely to be the onboard camera from Verstappen, which was not used for evaluation by the commissioners in the race and was only published two days later.

In case you missed the news yesterday: The duel between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton in Brazil could be reevaluated. Mercedes has exercised its right to reassessment and must be present by video conference today at 5 p.m. local time (3 p.m. German time).
In half an hour (10 a.m. our time), Mercedes must have informed up to three people that they will be taking part.
