Formula 1. Great scandal and gigantic punishment for Max Verstappen. F1

Lewis Hamilton has had Formula 1 victories for many years and has become a legend in the world’s most prestigious racing series. The Englishman is once again fighting for the victory in the general classification, but this time Max Verstappen is closer to the triumph. The Dutchman representing the Red Bull team is 19 points ahead of Hamilton four rounds before the end of the season.

The Mercedes rider won the qualifying session ahead of the Brazilian GP, while Verstappen was second. After the qualifying race, the judges noticed an abnormal rear wing on Lewis Hamilton’s car. Mercedes representatives said directly that the vehicle was touched by Verstappen. After all, we already know the judges’ decision on penalties for both players. Max Verstappen would pay a gigantic financial penalty and Hamilton was disqualified.

Importantly, in line with the regulations, we learned that Verstappen was also disqualified. All because the cars were in a closed park and not only could they not be modified and made any changes, but also not even touched. There was a heated debate on the internet about whether touching the rear wing of the vehicle could break the regulations.

We had to wait several hours for the decision. Ultimately, we learned that Max Verstappen would have to pay as much as 50,000. Euro penalties due to his behavior in a closed park, while Lewis Hamilton was disqualified from qualifying. In this specific situation, it seems that the Dutch nevertheless has the right to feel relieved despite the draconian punishment.

Lewis Hamilton will drive in the race, but will start from the last grid in Saturday’s sprint, so he will be behind Verstappen. The judges’ decision means that the Dutchman’s advantage over Hamilton is to be expected just before the end of the season in Formula 1.

The financial penalty is enormous, but Verstappen has the right to feel happier. His chances of winning Formula 1 this season are growing and in the event of his final triumph, the Red Bull rider will certainly not care about 50,000. euro penalties.
