A potential conflict of interest has arisen.
In the firing line Mercedes boss Toto Wolff and his wife Susie.
“We have complete confidence that the accusations are false,” the stable writes in a comment according to Austosport.
Toto Wolff is Mercedes’ long-time Formula 1 team manager and his wife Susie has been CEO of the F1 Academy since March this year, which is run by Formula 1’s owner Formula One Management, FOM.
Now the couple has become the subject of an investigation regarding a possible matchmaking situation.
It is Formula 1’s governing body, FIA, which will investigate the Austrian and his British wife.

Denies the information
It all comes down to Toto Wolff allegedly making a comment, during a team managers’ meeting, which suggested he had information that could only have come from FOM. This reports Austosport.
In other words, there is concern that Toto and Susie exchanged information that stable managers should not have access to.

The FIA has confirmed that an investigation has been launched.
Mercedes denies the allegations.
“We completely reject the claim in the statement and the associated media coverage, which falsely affects the integrity and compliance of our stable manager. We have complete confidence that the allegations are false,” they write in a comment according to Austosport.
In her role for the F1 Academy, Susie Wolff works closely with F1’s CEO, Stefano Domenicali.
