Retired Yankees star and MLB Hall of Famer Derek Jeter has lowered the price of his castle-shaped home in Greenwood Lake, New York. The huge property that previously listed in 2018 for $ 14.75 million is now on the market for $ 12.75 million.
To learn more about Jeter’s amazing home, the property is featured this week at TopTenRealEstateDeals.com.
Known locally as “The Castle,” the sprawling house was built in 1903 by Dr. Rudolph Gudewill of New York for his wife. The estate is actually two castles: the main castle with a connected tower and a castle for the guests. After Gudewill’s death, John and Julia Tiedemann bought the castle, where they lived with their 13 children, including an adopted son, William Connors, Jeter’s maternal grandfather. Jeter spent his childhood summers at the castle swimming, playing sports, and doing housework. Although the Tiedemanns sold the property in 1996, when it returned to the market in 2002, the former Yankees star bought it and restored it.
