Los Charros de Jalisco signed former Yankees player, Greg Bird, as his new reinforcement for the 2024 season of the Mexican Baseball League.

Bird, a 31-year-old first baseman, played 2015 to 2019 in the Major Leagues, all with the Yankeeswith whom he hit .211, with 32 home runs and 98 RBIs in 186 games with the Bronx Bombers, with whom he was the starting first baseman in the 2017 postseason, including the famous 2017 American League Championship Series, under fire for the Astros’ sign-stealing scandal, against which Bird hit .250, including one of just three hits by the Yankees in Game 7.

After leaving New York in 2019, Bird signed a Minor League contract with the Rangers, but he never debuted with them since he was injured just when they added him to the MLB squad. He went through Rockies in 2021, the following year he was with the Blue Jays and returned with the Yankees, without returning to the Big Top. In 2023, he decided to embark on an international adventure and played in the Australia and in the Frontier League with Quebec. Now he will embark on the adventure with the charrosled by another former major leaguer, Benjamin Gil.
