Singer Shena Malsiana died on Wednesday (25/10). The former contestant on the first season of X Factor Indonesia died at the age of 32.
The news of Shena’s death was confirmed through an upload via her personal Instagram.
“Innalillahi Wainnailaihi Rojiun has passed away, our beloved child, friend, friend, sister, brother, SHENA MALSIANA,” wrote the upload on Wednesday (25/10).
“May the deceased be accepted by His side and khusnul khotimah Ameen,” continued the post.
The news of Shena’s death was first revealed through Bobby Irfan’s Instagram account. In the upload, it was announced that Shena died at 15.37 WIB.
“Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun, our family, good friend, and closest relative, Shena Malsiana, has passed away at 15.37 WIB this afternoon,” wrote the account @bobbyichaniago.”Please pray that Shena will get the best place by His side.”
According to the statement, Shena’s body will be buried in Greenwich Park, BSD City, Tangerang. The schedule and location of Shena’s funeral has not been confirmed.
Rossa, as one of Shena’s mentors on X Factor, felt deep sadness at the departure of the talent search contestant. He uploaded a series of moments of his closeness to Shena via Instagram.
“Usually group calls,” Rossa wrote briefly, including a screenshot of her group telephone call with the late Shena and Fatin Shidqia.
“I love you forever,” said Rossa in the next upload which contained a screenshot of her private conversation with Shena on September 8 2023.

Shena Malsiana is widely known thanks to her work on the first season of X Factor Indonesia. Under the direction of Rossa as her mentor, Shena managed to break into the top 5 even though she failed to become champion in the competition.
After participating in X Factor Indonesia in 2013, Shena regularly released various singles such as Forgive Me, Imaji, What Do You Need, Against the Clouds, to Too Sincere for You to Hurt.
Shena also often shares her recovery period on TikTok after being diagnosed with the autoimmune disease Lupus Nephritis in 2021. This disease attacks the kidneys, causing Shena to suffer from Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) or chronic kidney failure.
“Age 30, diagnosed with Lupus Nephritis which causes chronic kidney failure, then required to undergo hemodialysis (dialysis),” wrote Shena via her TikTok account in 2022.
“In 2021 I was diagnosed with CKD or stage 4 kidney failure. Starting from there I have been taking medication regularly Monday-Sunday; morning, afternoon and evening,” said Shena in another upload.
Despite suffering from Lupus, Shena remained productive and successfully released her debut album entitled Fragmen in December 2022.
