WARTAKOTALIVE.COM, PULOGADUNG – Tio Pakusadewo’s statement about the poor quality of food for prisoners assisted by correctional facilities (WBP) at detention centers and prisons was confirmed by a former warden in Jakarta with the initials AB (61).
The man revealed that what Tio Pakusadewo said about the quality of the food was very true.
The food given to the prisoners is said to be far from adequate and nutritional.
In addition, the quality of the rice served to the WBP which is called ‘Nasi Cadong’ has a hard texture, and is similar to chalk.
“It’s like chalk, it’s not good to eat. It doesn’t taste good anymore, it tastes bland,” AB said when met by media crew in Pulogadung, East Jakarta, Wednesday (10/5/2023).
Due to the poor quality of the rice, some inmates were forced to buy food in the detention center and prison canteens.
The canteen in question is also allegedly owned by a children’s foundation of a Minister with a selling price of twice the market price, which Tio had alluded to in Uya Kuya’s content.
The canteen was also said by Tio to have monopolized all businesses, from food, drinks, to daily necessities for WBP.
“Drug convicts, corruption cases where they want to eat like that, they buy it. If you want to eat deliciously like going out, you have to spend money,” he added.

In addition, AB also explained that the quality of rice in detention centers and prisons was indeed poor with a strategy that was difficult to digest, and resulted in almost all prisoners defecating (BAB) every day.
It should also be noted that all prisons and prisons under the Directorate General of Corrections have now exceeded their capacity, from a standard of under 1,000, but up to 3,000 can be filled.
“The rice is really hard, that’s also so that all prisoners don’t go to the toilet every day (defecate). It’s hard to digest, if you don’t all go to the toilet,” he said.
He continued, AB, who had served in prisons and prisons in the Jakarta area, also said that this practice had been going on for a long time.
“The eggs they bought were also of poor quality. They bought broken, rotten eggs. If the salted fish is dried in the sun, the flies don’t want to get close,” he said.
