The last days of this year could be crucial for JG, a lawyer from Villa Mercedes who has been under investigation for almost a month, when he was reported for sexually abusing a teenager. Beyond being a legal professional, the lawyer also fulfilled various functions in the Municipality during the last two mayoralties of Mario Raúl Merlo.
A new hearing for this cause will take place on Thursday, a judicial source confirmed. As it turned out, in said hearing the judge in charge of the case must “determine whether the request made by the prosecution and the proposal made by the defense correspond,” he commented.
This last point is due to the fact that since the beginning of the investigations, the investigation carried out by the investigating prosecutor 2, Daniela Torres, has been somewhat hindered by the presentation made by the defense of the accused.
Since JG’s lawyer, Gustavo Otegui, denounced the prosecutor and requested her removal from the case. The arguments for such a request were not revealed, what was revealed was that the defender “raised several points.”
However, “that complaint was already dealt with by the Hierarchical Superior and they rejected the presentation,” said the informant.
JG was reported on November 28. Since then, as part of the investigations, the prosecutor ordered the search of his home and notified him that he is being investigated for a crime against sexual integrity.
According to another source in the judicial environment, the 37-year-old man was reported for “aggravated sexual abuse”, given that the victim is a minor. Since rumors about the complaint began circulating, JG has disappeared from social media. He is no longer listed on Facebook or Instagram. The lawyer knew how to work in the Undersecretary of Transportation of Villa Mercedes, during 2012. He was then in charge of the Bus Terminal and continued in that position even during Merlo’s last administration.
