WASHINGTON – Larry Nassar, the former doctor of American gymnasts, including Olympic champions, was stabbed by another inmate in a federal prison. Nassar is in stable condition.
The AP agency reported this with reference to its sources. The former 59-year-old doctor was serving time in Florida for abusing gymnasts and possessing child pornography, for which he was sentenced in several trials to more than 300 years in prison.
Nassar was the team doctor for the USA Gymnastics team for eighteen years. More than 350 women testified against him. For example, he also abused Olympic champions Simone Biles, Aly Raisman or McKayla Maroney. The court sentenced him to life imprisonment in 2018. According to the agency, another prisoner stabbed him in the back and chest during an argument on Sunday.
